This isn't FirstHabit’s first time at CES, but it's their most ambitious. The company, previously known as Seomjae, has strategically used the global stage to showcase the step-by-step evolution of its technology without rushing to market. At CES 2025, FirstHabit earned an Innovation Award for its personalized learning management solution, CoachON 2.0, which was a math-focused AI tutoring service. Later that year, they presented CHALK 3.0 as a prototype, which garnered attention for its text-based problem-solving capabilities.
Now, CHALK 4.0 represents a major leap forward. It moves beyond a simple upgrade to become FirstHabit's first complete platform. The defining feature is its Conversational Lecture experience, where students can interact in real time with an AI instructor. This AI tutor is a 3D animated character that uses non-verbal cues—like facial expressions, gestures, and eye contact—to create a more immersive and engaging learning experience.
The platform has also expanded its scope. Previously limited to math, CHALK 4.0 now covers all STEM subjects and more. It's designed to do more than just solve problems; it connects concepts across subjects, builds personalized curricula, and manages a student's entire learning journey. This provides a true one-on-one tutoring experience that feels like "learning directly from the world's best teacher right by your side," according to a FirstHabit spokesperson.
"If our previous offerings were math-focused services, CHALK 4.0 is our first official platform that enables real-time conversational lectures across all subjects," a spokesperson for FirstHabit commented. "We deliberately held back from a market launch until now to perfect this official version. CHALK 4.0 isn’t just a new product; it’s an innovative platform that redefines the paradigm of education."
